AlascA – Storytelling and Song

The boys from AlascA love timeless folk music, and are redefining the genre in Europe and beyond with great melodies and lyrics…

Paard van Troje / 20 September 2012 & 03 March 2016

Hailing from North Holland, the boys from AlascA bring along a shared love of timeless music, each song telling a story of different places and people. With influences from the 60’s and 70’s, thoughtful lyrics and bittersweet melodies, their style of European Country has been steadily gaining popularity on the continent. This year, their doors open with the second album, “Prospero”, filled with festival harmonies, lively piano and playful lyrics.

We got in touch with the boys and got their thoughts on love, life and music. Their answers are both thoughtful and illuminating.

1. Describe your act on a dating site using only three words?
We are alone.
2. Pick a dead artist to join you on stage and perform with you…
Tim Buckley.
3. Analogue, digital, or…?
Analogue.
4. Modern art – rubbish or a misunderstood genius?
Most of it is meaningless rubbish coming from people who don’t know or understand the classics and instead make their rubbish for the sake of their appearance in the eyes of the world.
5. What is your most peculiar pet peeve?
Many people don’t seem to care, but we hate afterbirth imitation acts that sound like a band that sounds like a band that was cool two years ago. Stand out. Stay ahead of the game and sound like your frickn self.
